Professor receives international award for work to expand links with China

Evandro Menezes de Carvalho, a professor at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Rio de Janeiro Law School and the coordinator of its Brazil-China Study Center, is one of the winners of the “Light of Civilization 2020 – Chinese Cultural Exchange Annual Figures and Institutions” awards. The winners were announced on January 21, during the Think Tank Outlook China Innovation and Development Experts Symposium in Beijing, organized by the Guosheng Think Tank, China Cultural Exchange Network, “One Belt One Road” Cultural Communication and Economic Development Task Force, and “One Belt One Road” Professional Committee of China Business History Society.
Carvalho was the only personality in the Americas to receive an award. According to the organizers, the winners are people and institutions that, in their respective fields of professional activity, have worked tirelessly and for a long time for cultural exchange between China and other countries, actively organizing various forms of cultural exchange, conducting outstanding academic research and making notable contributions to the study of China and the “Belt and Road” initiative, to connect people and promote mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.
