The FGV´s Rio de Janeiro Law School was the first law school in Brazil to have a study center aimed exclusively at China, focusing on areas related to legal and institutional transformations in the country.

Professors take part in international BRICS forum and foster relations with Chinese organizations

The dean of the FGV´s Rio de Janeiro Law School, Sergio Guerra, and the coordinator of its Brazil-China Study Center, Evandro Carvalho, went to China to take part in the BRICS Forum on International Rule of Law in September. As well as this event, organized by the China Academy of Social Science’s Institute of International Law, the professors also visited various Chinese universities and other institutions with which the school has partnerships.

The FGV´s Rio de Janeiro Law School was the first law school in Brazil to have a study center aimed exclusively at China, focusing on areas related to legal and institutional transformations in the country. The school has been investing in its relationships with Chinese universities, think tanks and legal organizations since 2013.

The professors visited the following organizations: China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC); China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL); Renmin University – School of Law; China National Academy of Governance – Party School of the Central Committee of CPC; Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies (ACCWS) – China International Publishing Group; China Academy of Social Science – Institute of International Law (CASS); KoGuan School of Law – Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU); and Fudan University – Fudan Development Institute.
