From March 10-14, students from Krannert School of Management, at Purdue University, in the United States - one of the international partners of the School, visited the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV/EBAPE). They've attended the Doing Business in Brazil, a course offered by EBAPE that aims to present an overview of the political, economic and social aspects of Brazil.The program included lectures held by the School's professors and guests, besides companies and institutions located in Rio de Janeiro, such as Shell, the American Chamber of Commerce, Companhia de Desenvolvimento Urbano da Região do Porto do Rio de Janeiro (CDURP) and Centro de Operações Rio.The group of students - made up of Indian, Thai, American, Japanese, Indonesian, Chinese and Brazilians - were able to learn a bit more about the reality of the country, which currently stands out among the 10 largest economies in the world. That was the case of Jennifer Griffith: FGV did a great job of integrating relevant economic, political and social aspects of Brazil and Rio de Janeiro. The presentations were interesting and flowed well and were connected to the external visits in the afternoon, she said. For the organizers of the course in Brazil, the perception of the students was very positive. This program provides students the opportunity to see, first hand, current events and the Brazilian economic environment, giving them a chance to have a holistic view of how to do business in Brazil, explained the director of International Relations of EBAPE, Mônica Balanda.Founded in 1869, Purdue University is known for its academic excellence and leadership in research production.
