Regulatory law event now accepting extended abstracts

The Master’s and Doctoral Program at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Rio de Janeiro Law School, with financial support from the Brazilian Education Ministry’s graduate education support agency (CAPES) and the Rio de Janeiro State Research Foundation (FAPERJ), is now accepting extended abstracts to be presentedat working group sessions during an event called “Thinking about regulatory law in the light of decision theory: Opportunities, challenges and prospects.”

The event will take place on May 15, 2024, via Zoom. Experts will also give talks on this subject on April 3, 2024.

The extended abstracts must be emailed no later than 11:59 p.m. on April 24, 2024 to evento.drtd1@gmail.com, in line with the instructions set out in the public notice.

Those selected will present their work to the following working groups:

(1) “Decision Theory, Regulation and Economic Analysis of Law,” which will debate the application of decision theory to the formulation and implementation of regulatory policies;

(2) “Regulatory Law and Behavioral Economics,”which will discuss the interaction between regulatory law and behavioral economics; and

(3) “Law and Economics," which will look at the interaction between these two fields of study.

Submissions will be accepted from students (undergraduate and graduate), professors, graduates of Brazilian or international graduate programs, professionals and anyone else interested in the topic.
