Rio de Janeiro Law School Professor is awarded a prize by Fundação Estudar
The professor of FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School (DIREITO RIO), Diego Werneck Arguelhes, has just been granted the Fellow Student of the Year award, from Fundação Estudar, in the Science and Academy category.
The connection of professor Diego Werneck Arguelhes with FGV exists since 2007, when he was a fellow student during the Master of Law program (LL.M.) of Yale University (USA). For him, including a category for researchers in the award is to recognize that the academy is also a space of creation committed to the development of the country. More than adding significance to what I did in my still short career so far, I think that the prize is, above all, the appreciation of the direction that I have tried to follow in my work, says Diego.
The professor said that he discovered his vocation still in college, when he joined scientific research and worked as a trainee at Rio de Janeiro Law School. Recently, the professor also participated in the team of professors from the School that gave assistance to the press coverage of the trial of the Criminal Action 470, or Mensalão. This one and other projects in which I participated in the School allowed me to enter into dialogues broader than the immediate community of researchers to which I belong, says Diego.
According to the executive director of Fundação Estudar, Rodrigo Teles, the purpose is to hold the award ceremony every year.
Created in 1991, Fundação Estudar is a non-profit institution that supports the training of young Brazilians whose research can help the development of Brazil.
