São Paulo Law School offers pro bono legal services course this semester

The Lato Sensu Graduate Program (GVLaw) of São Paulo Law School (DIREITO GV) offers this semester the course ?Advocacia pro bono no Brasil e no mundo: práticas, incentivos e perspectivas?(Pro bono legal services in Brazil and in the world: practices, incentives and perspectives). The program, offered in partnership with New Perimeter PILNET-Public Interest Law and Instituto Pro Bono, intends to place on the agenda the opportunities, incentives and ethical issues involved in carrying out pro bono legal services, and the various models and practices around the world. Thus, it seeks to encourage reflection on the expansion prospects of public interest legal services in Brazil.The moment could not be more convenient, says Marcos Fuchs, executive director of Instituto Pro Bono. For the specialist, the public hearing on the restrictions on the practice of pro bono legal services in Brazil and the strong adhesion of civil society in the debate led the Bar Association of Brazil (OAB) to temporarily stop the limitations on some regional offices. The Order eventually created a committee to propose a regulation on the implementation of pro bono legal services on a national level, evaluated Fuchs.The registration deadline is February 20th and the course begins on March 24th.For more information, please click here (in Portuguese).
