São Paulo Law School researcher wins ANBIMA Mercado de Capitais award
The thesis analyzes the complexity of the arrangement between regulation and self-regulation in the Brazilian stock market in order to suggest proposals that result in its strengthening and the promotion of Brazil's economic and social development.

São Paulo Law School researcher, Angela Donaggio, won the ANBIMA Mercado de Capitais (Capital Markets) award in the category best Ph.D. thesis project, for the project ?A Complexidade do Arranjo entre Regulação e Autorregulação no Mercado de Valores Mobiliários Brasileiro? (The Complexity of the Arrangement between Regulation and Self-Regulation in the Brazilian Securities Market). The thesis analyzes the complexity of the arrangement between regulation and self-regulation in the Brazilian stock market in order to suggest proposals that result in its strengthening and the promotion of Brazil's economic and social development.Angela's Ph.D. dissertation gave rise to the book ?Governança Corporativa e Novo Mercado ? Proteção ao investidor e falhas no marco regulatório?(Corporate Governance and New Market - Investor Protection and failures in the regulatory framework), through the Law, Justice and Development series, of Saraiva publishing house, with a preface by the senior professor of the School, Ary Oswaldo Mattos Filho. In her role as a researcher of São Paulo Law School, she released two books in 2013: ?Estado e Empresa ? Uma relação imbricada? (State and Companies - An imbricate relationship with Antonio Angarita and Ligia Pinto Sica, and ?Governança corporativa e ofertas públicas iniciais no Brasil (2007-2011)?, (Corporate governance and initial public offerings in Brazil (2007-2011), with Mario Engler.The Judging Committee, indicated by the Institute of Economic Studies/Casa das Garças (IEPE/CdG), was composed by Luiz Chrysostomo, Armando Castelar, Edmar Lisboa Bacha, Monica Baumgarten de Bolle and Nelson Eizirik.The ANBIMA Mercado de Capitais Awards have existed since 2005 and are an initiative by the Brazilian Association of Financial and Capital Markets (ANBIMA) in partnership with IEPE/CdG, with the objective of stimulating the academic production of subjects that are relevant to the development of this type of market.
