Seminar in Campinas discusses challenges and prospects for Brazilian economy in 2024

Fundação Getulio Vargas, through its campus in Campinas, Sao Paulo, and in partnership with Grupo Campinas de RH (GRUCA), is holding an in-person seminar called “Challenges and Prospects for the Brazilian Economy in 2024.” The event will take place on February 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at FGV’s site in Campinas.
The seminar offers an opportunity to discuss crucial issues, such as interest rate cuts, the American elections and international conflicts that could affect the global economy. Local fiscal concerns and weather problems affecting agriculture will also be addressed.
This meeting is an unmissable opportunity for CEOs, directors and managers in various sectors to keep up to date, strategically prepared and competitive in a complex and interconnected global market. It will be a morning of enriching discussions and valuable insights in a forum for reflection on the current and future dynamics of the Brazilian economy.
The main presentation will be given by economist Silvia Matos, the coordinator of the Macro Bulletin at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Brazilian Institute of Economics (FGV IBRE), who is also responsible for producing the institute’s “Macroeconomic Scenarios” publications. She was appointed the chief economist of the Brazilian Order of Economists in 2019. Matos has been a professor on FGV EPGE’s Professional Master’s in Economics Program since 2004. She previously worked as an economist in the Research Department of Banco BBM. She has written many published articles in the areas of macroeconomics and economic growth.
