Seminar discusses next government’s macroeconomic prospects
Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) is holding a free webinar called “The Next Government’s Macroeconomic Prospects.” The online event, open to the public, will take place on August 12, at 9:30 am, on FGV’s YouTube channel.
Economic polarization has taken away space for debate of ideas, and discussion of proposals for the next government is practically prohibited. Threats from populist economic policies could take away even more degrees of freedom for the next administration. The webinar will look at issues involving economic expectations for 2023 and the possibility that past mistakes will be repeated.
Talks will be given by Cassiana Hernandez, chief economist at JP Morgan in Brazil; Fernando Limongi, a political scientist and professor at FGV EESP and the University of Sao Paulo; and Marcos Mendes, a professor and researcher at Insper, a higher education institute in Sao Paulo. The moderator will be Marcelo Kfoury Muinhos, a professor of economics at FGV EESP.
