Series of webinars addresses challenges faced by regulatory bodies in Brazil
Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Center for Regulation and Infrastructure Studies (FGV CERI) is launching a series of free online meetings titled “Demystifying Regulation.” The aim is to offer knowledge needed to understand the complex reality that challenges the options and decisions of regulatory agencies. The first one, to be held on April 7, will present the differences between “contractual regulation” and “discretionary regulation.”
The webinar will be led by Professor Joisa Dutra, the director of FGV CERI. It will look at the concept of contractual regulation, in which economic agents enter into contracts via public tenders, and how it differs from the discretionary regulation model, characterized by the provision of services.
The speakers will be Gustavo Kaercher Loureiro, an associate researcher at FGV CERI; and Egon Bockman, an undergraduate and graduate law professor at Paraná Federal University. The moderator will be FGV CERI’s director, Joisa Dutra.
The event will be broadcast live on FGV’s YouTube channel. To take part, please sign up here.
