Specialists discuss application of new technologies in insurance sector in seminar
This public event will take place on June 5, at 2 pm, in FGV’s main building.
Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV EPGE) is holding another event in its series of seminars called “Contemporary Topics.” Organized by the school’s Undergraduate Economics Department, this series is aimed at providing a forum to discuss key subjects on Brazil’s economic agenda. This public event will take place on June 5, at 2 pm, in FGV’s main building.
The insurance sector has recently undergone some major transformations. The arrival of emerging technologies and the digitization process, as well as leading to the emergence of insuretechs, have paved the way for the development of consumer-centric business models. Tools such as machine learning and artificial intelligence allow better understanding of people’s need for protection and assistance. Digital experiences in relations between insurers and policyholders have been intensified and perfected, and a well-defined strategy in this area is fundamental for the future of companies operating in the sector.
To discuss these and other issues, the seminar will feature Erika Medici, the CEO of AXA’s Brazilian arm. Comments will be made by Professor Humberto Moreira of FGV EPGE, who is also a researcher at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Institute for Innovation in Insurance and Reinsurance (FGV IISR).
