Summer course for high school students focuses on developing math and science skills
Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Center for the Development of Mathematics and Science (FGV CDMC), in partnership with the School of Applied Mathematics (FGV EMAp), will hold the Talent Selection Summer School from January 22 to 26. Aimed at outstanding third-grade high school students in 2024, the course will offer five days of classes covering subjects such as mathematics, computing, data science, law, economics, Portuguese and writing.
The aim of this initiative is to strengthen FGV CDMC’s connection with talented youth in mathematics and related subjects. The course will be taught by professors from three FGV schools (EMAp, the Rio de Janeiro Law School and the Brazilian School of Economics and Finance), as well as professors from Ouro Preto Federal University, Western Paraná State University and Espírito Santo Federal University.
The summer school will be attended by approximately 42 students from seven Brazilian states. For those who wish to participate in hybrid format, the classes will also be broadcast via Zoom. Interested parties can contact us by emailing cdmc@fgv.br.
