Vice-director of Rio de Janeiro Law School is the new legal advisor for OAB/RJ

The legal adviser's role is to assist the President of the Commission in addressing the issues within his/her competence, serving as an advisory body to the matters of the Administrative Law.

The vice-director of Education, Research and Graduate Studies of Rio de Janeiro Law School (FGV DIREITO RIO), Sérgio Guerra, took office on February 19 as Legal Adviser of Administrative Law of the Brazilian Bar Association, at Rio de Janeiro branch (CODA  - OAB/RJ). The committee is responsible for issuing opinions on issues relating to Administrative Law that are subject to its review.

According to the professor, the legal adviser's role is to assist the President of the Commission in addressing the issues within his/her competence, serving as an advisory body to the matters of the area. The administrative law commission of OAB/RJ has great plans regarding its effective participation in the analysis of draft laws, internal and external control proceedings, among others, stressed Sérgio Guerra.

For him, the invitation represents, on the one hand, a major challenge for the importance and role that OAB has in society, and on the other, a great opportunity to influence public policies and public services subject for strong state regulation. The professor also stated that he will have the possibility of joining theory with practical cases, helping to bring effectiveness to opinions, and hence, to the performance of the committee.

The inaugural ceremony took place at OAB/RJ's main office in downtown Rio.
