Webinar addresses advances and challenges of crypto market’s regulatory framework

The FGV LAW program at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo Law School is holding a webinar to debate the advances and challenges of the regulatory framework for the cryptoasset and virtual asset market for fintechs. The public event will take place on January 26, at 6 pm, on FGV’s YouTube channel.

In 2022, the market capitalization of cryptoassets dropped, driving the approval of a regulatory framework for the sector. Accordingly, this event will look at the prospects for regulation for fintechs that operate in this market, including concerns about ways to prevent money laundering and protect users due to the non-approval of the asset segregation of exchanges, classified as providers of virtual asset services.

Talks will be given by Giancarllo Melito, professor of contract law and fintechs at FGV LAW, and Rafael Bianchini Abreu Paiva, professor of contract law, cryptoassets and economics at FGV LAW. The moderator will be Maria Cláudia Couto, FGV LAW’s academic coordination manager.
