Webinar addresses COVID-19’s impacts on education
On May 6, at 7 pm, the FGV´s School of Public Policy and Government (FGV EPPG) will host a talk titled “COVID-19’s Impacts on Education.” The webinar is part of the “Series of Public Policy Webinars: An Objective Look at the COVID-19 Crisis” and it will feature João Marcelo Borges, the political strategy director of education NGO Todos Pela Educação. The event will be transmitted via the Zoom platform.
João Marcelo Borges is the political strategy director of Todos Pela Educação. He has an undergraduate degree in international relations from the University of Brasilia and a master’s in international political economy from the London School of Economics. He worked as an education specialist and senior education consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank between 2011 and 2017, and as an innovation specialist at the same organization in 2018. He has provided consultancy services to the World Bank, UNESCO and UNDP, as well as companies, NGOs and private foundations in Brazil and other countries.
The guest also served as the strategic management coordinator at the Sao Paulo State Social Welfare and Development Secretariat from 2005 to 2007, and as an advisor to the Planning, Budgeting and Management Ministry’s Management Secretariat between 1999 and 2001.
