Webinar debates contractual liability and artificial intelligence

The FGV LAW program at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo Law School is holding a free webinar on January 19, at 6 pm, about contractual liability and artificial intelligence. The event will feature talks by Guilherme Forma Klafke, an FGV LAW professor and researcher at the Center for Education and Research in Innovation (CEPI); and Vivianne Geraldes Ferreira Mese, a professor at the FGV Sao Paulo Law School who teaches contract law-related subjects for FGV LAW. The moderator will be Maria Cláudia Girotto do Couto, FGV LAW’s academic coordination manager.
Artificial intelligence is increasingly used in the execution of contracts and even in negotiations. However, this technology can fail. In these cases, what will be the contractual liability of those who use this solution? Are liability limitation or exclusion clauses legal? The purpose of this event is to discuss the limits of contractual liability in contracts that employ AI.
