Webinar discusses cryptoassets’ challenges and prospects in Brazil

Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) is holding a free webinar called “Cryptoassets in Brazil: Challenges and Prospects.” The online event will take place on September 27, at 6 pm, on FGV’s YouTube channel.
The webinar will discuss the different challenges facing the cryptoasset market and present recent initiatives in Brazil to encourage women to participate in this ecosystem.
The speakers will be Alexandre Ludolf, CIO of QR Asset; Roberta Antunes, new business director at Hashdex; and Professor Adrian Kemmer Cernev of FGV EAESP. The moderator will be Professor Jéfferson Colombo of FGV EESP.
After a period of increasing institutional adoption and rising prices, the cryptocurrency market experienced a sharp correction in the first half of 2022. This wave of pessimism brought to the surface various challenges for the sector, such as high uncertainty regarding pricing, mere speculative demand and the significant gender gap in the adoption of cryptoassets in Brazil and worldwide.
The webinar will also debate the long-term potential of blockchain technology and whether or not cryptocurrencies and other financial innovations can generate benefits for society, especially the most socioeconomically vulnerable families.
