Webinar discusses digital sovereignty and cybersecurity in BRICS countries

On February 26, Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Rio de Janeiro Law School will hold a webinar to explore digital sovereignty and cybersecurity in the BRICS countries. The prospects of BRICS countries and their role in promoting alternative ways of tackling this subject will also be discussed.
The event will feature Professor Luca Belli of Rio de Janeiro Law School; the president of Minas Gerais Development Bank, Sergio Suchodolski; Oliver Stuenkel, a professor of international relations at FGV and author of the book “Post-Western World”; Professor Min Jiang of the University of North Carolina; and the director of the Internet Democracy Project in India, Anja Kovacs. The webinar will be broadcast live in English, without simultaneous interpretation.
The meeting will also host the launch of the book “CyberBRICS: Cybersecurity Regulations in the BRICS Countries,” (Springer-Nature, 2021). This is the first book to ever analyze the digital policies of the BRICS countries. The book is linked to the CyberBRICS project.
