Webinar discusses ETF investment opportunities

The Finance Research Center (FGVcef) at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP) is holding a free webinar called “Exchange-Traded Funds: Characteristics and Advantages for Investors.” The event will take place on September 21, at 7 pm, on FGV’s YouTube channel. The event is part of the Investment Fund Industry Promotion Project, a partnership between FGV and BB Asset Management.
The Brazilian exchange traded fund market has seen exponential growth in recent years. Of the 81 index funds traded on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange, 51 were launched in 2021 or 2022. These funds have combined net assets of R$40 billion and 864,000 investors. Given this growth, the objective of this webinar is to highlight this topic’s significance in the financial markets today.
The webinar will be moderated by FGVcef’s coordinators, Claudia Yoshinaga and Willian Eid. The speakers will be Gabriela Shibata, the cash equities product manager at B3 (the owner of the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange); Guilherme Novaes, BB Asset Management’s retail commercial manager; and Rogério Gregorio, Banco do Brasil’s allocation strategy manager.
“The fund management industry is broad, giving investors flexibility in building their portfolios and investment strategies. Every day, we talk about actively managed funds, whether fixed income, multimarket or equity, but ETFs are also playing an increasingly important role. They allow investors to access a whole series of markets at a low cost and with high liquidity,” says Guilherme Novaes.
