 Webinar discusses public transport and COVID-19 pandemic

Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Center for Regulation and Infrastructure Studies (FGV CERI) will hold an online debate on July 28, 2021, about public transport and the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to analyze the handling of the health crisis and its side effects in the sector. The webinar will explore how the imbalance between revenues and costs during the pandemic has resulted in the biggest ever financial crisis in Brazilian public transport. The event will be broadcast live at 6 pm on FGV’s YouTube channel.

The speakers will be the urban mobility manager of the WRI Brasil Research Institute, Cristina Albuquerque; and Marcio D’Agosto, an associate professor at Rio de Janeiro Federal University. The moderator will be the director of FGV CERI, Joisa Dutra. The speakers will discuss possible solutions to the problem, which will demand synergistic efforts by various stakeholders in the transport ecosystem so that the sector can survive the pandemic period and recover in the coming years.
