Webinar discusses whether Brazilian soccer could adopt European league model

On July 14, 2021, at 10 am, FGV Executive Education will hold the latest event in its series of free webinars on sports management, called “Leadership in Sport – Could European Leagues Provide a Model for Brazil?” The aim of these monthly events is to share high-quality content with sports market professionals through talks by sports management experts. The initiative is part of the FGV/FIFA/CIES Sports Management Education Course. All the events are being broadcast live on FGV’s YouTube channel.

The third webinar in the series will be called “Could European Leagues Provide a Model for Brazil?” The meeting will discuss whether European leagues could serve as a model for Brazil, given that Brazilian soccer’s revenue could potentially grow 330% if it adopted a professional league system.

A presentation will be given by the deputy general secretary of the Association of European Leagues, Italian Alberto Colombo. KPMG’s head of media and sports, Francisco Clemente, and the CEO of Dream Factory, Duda Magalhães, will also speak. The moderator will be the academic coordinator of the FGV/FIFA/CIES Sports Management Education Course, Pedro Trengrouse.
