On June 18, 2021, at 10 am, the Center for Technology and Society at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Rio de Janeiro Law School will hold a webinar on FGV’s YouTube channel, called the Second EU-Brazil Conference on Digital Economy and Innovation: Connectivity and New Digital Infrastructures.
The event, which will take place during the Portuguese Presidency of the EU Council, aims to identify areas for cooperation between the European Union and Brazil in relation to digital businesses and emerging technologies.
The participants will explore topics such as new digital infrastructures, 5G, cybersecurity, personal data protection, data-based technologies, the Internet of Things and its applications, and artificial intelligence.
The speakers and participants will share their perspectives on these subjects and explore areas where cooperation can be strengthened in the short and long term. They will also present critical assessments of measures that can be taken and challenges that must be tackled to improve cooperation in digital businesses and emerging technologies.
The moderators will be Professor Luca Belli, the coordinator of the FGV Rio de Janeiro Law School’s Center for Technology and Society, and Luigi Gambardella, the president of networking platform EU-Brazil. The conference will consist of three panel discussions bringing together expert opinions and diverse views on concrete initiatives in Brazil, the rest of Latin America and the European Union.
