Webinar to launch letter to political parties regarding women’s participation in elections
On September 29, the Fundação Getulio Vargas Rio de Janeiro Law School will hold the Fourth Rio de Janeiro More Women in Politics Webinar, during which a letter to political parties regarding their commitment to female participation in the upcoming elections will be officially presented. The event will be broadcast live on FGV’s YouTube channel, starting at 5 pm.
Among other things, the fourth edition of this webinar will discuss the election campaign and launch the Rio de Janeiro More Women in Politics Forum’s Letter to Brazilian Political Parties. The event will feature Professor Ligia Fabris of the FGV Rio de Janeiro Law School, who is the coordinator of its Diversity Program; Rio de Janeiro regional electoral prosecutor Silvana Batini; Professor Clara Araújo of Rio de Janeiro State University’s Gender Inequalities and Relations Study Center; Professor Hildete Pereira de Mello of Fluminense Federal University; Adriana Mota of the Association of Brazilian Women; Havana Marinho, a member of the Human Rights and Legal Aid Commission of the Rio de Janeiro chapter of the Brazilian Bar Association; Marina Barros of the Alziras Institute; and Leila Linhares, the founder and director of women’s pressure group CEPIA and emeritus professor at the Rio de Janeiro State Magistrates’ School.
The Rio de Janeiro More Women in Politics Forum was founded in 2018. Its members include representatives of academia, civil society organizations and the judiciary, who meet to share ideas and information and support female candidates in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
