Webinar talks about eSports market potential

In the past, eSports was a niche modality but it is now one of the most promising segments in the world and Brazil is one of its main markets, including for national tournaments. To discuss this topic, FGV Executive Education will hold a webinar on February 22 called “Understanding the Potential of the World of eSports.” The event, to be broadcast live on YouTube, starting at 3 pm, is aimed at people looking to learn more about this market.

Thiago Milhazes, the Brazilian eSports Awards’ head of marketing, and Gabriel Duarte, the creator of the Brazilian eSports Awards and Flamengo eSports, will participate in the videoconference, which will be in talk show format. The guests will share their experiences and discuss the main challenges facing the sector. Dario Menezes, a professor at FGV Management and the executive director of Group Caliber Brasil, will also participate in the debate.

The webinar will discuss the eSports market in Brazil and across the world. Last year, this type of game generated around US$180 billion worldwide. Brazil ranks fourth in the world in terms of number of downloads, behind only India, China and the United States. The growing audience on the internet and the emergence of games accessible to different types of people make eSports a successful investment and sponsorship area, attracting prominent companies and brands.

The event is being held by the Business Development in eSports online course. For more information about the event and to sign up, click here.
