Consul General to lecture on importance of French language and culture in the world

FGV’s EPGE Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (EPGE) will welcome the Consul General of France, Jean-Paul Guihaumé, to discuss “The importance of French language and culture in the world, today and tomorrow” on October 8, starting at 2 p.m. The event will be held in the auditorium of FGV’s main office (Praia de Botafogo, 190. 12th floor. Rio de Janeiro/RJ).

The seminar aims to discuss the role of French language and cultural heritage in an international context, as well as the prospects of Francophonie in the globalized world.

Jean-Paul Guihaumé began his diplomatic career in 1993 as an expert in the Far East and Pacific region. He has held various positions in Europe throughout his career, including that of Deputy Director for Administration of the European Union. He was also a Cultural Advisor and Director of the French Center for Culture and Cooperation in Egypt. He has been the Consul General of France and Director of Maison de France in Rio de Janeiro since September 2017.
