FGV’s Department of Public Policy Analysis (DAPP) will hold the panel “Launch of the #observasegurança platform: an overview of public safety in the state of Rio de Janeiro”, on October 31. The event will be held in the auditorium of FGV’s main office (Praia de Botafogo, 190. 12th floor. Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro/RJ), starting at 9:30 a.m.

The platform provides public and accessible information gathered during a survey focused on complaints, crimes and arrests, providing an overview on anonymous complaints involving violence and crime, crimes reported at police stations and arrests.

The data presented has yet to be published and is provided by the project’s partner institutions: Disque Denúncia (Tip Line), Instituto de Segurança Pública (ISP – Public Safety Institute) and Secretaria de Estado de Administração Penitenciária (SEAP – State Department of Corrections), which will make presentations at the event, along with Renato Sérgio de Lima, from Fórum Brasileiro de Segurança Pública (Brazilian Public Safety Forum). The Vice President of FGV, Sergio Franklin Quintela, and the Director of DAPP, Marco Aurelio Ruediger, will open the panel.
