The Consumer Price Index - Class 1 (CPI-C1) dropped 0.25% in November – 0.78 percentage point (p.p.) below the 0.53% rate recorded in October. The index now accumulates a 3.84% increase in the year and 3.80% in the last 12 months.The CPI-BR fell 0.17% in November. The indicator for the last 12 months stood at 4.24%, above the level recorded by the CPI-C1 index.

Seven of the indicator’s eight expense categories showed lower price variations: Housing (-0.11% to -1.10%), Food (1.17% to 0.34%), Transport (0.71% to -0.42%), Health and Personal Care (0.38% to -0.17%), Clothing (0.73% to 0.14%), Education, Reading and Recreation (0.37% to 0.27%), and Communication (0.12% to 0.07%).

Within these groups, the highlights were the following items: household power bill (-0.91% to -6.04%), herbs and vegetables (19.51% to 11.54%), gasoline (1.96% to -2.96%), toiletries and personal care items (0.83% to -1.10%), clothing (0.97% to 0.29%), sports items (1.54% to -1.52%), and cable TV rates (0.33% to 0.00%).

On the other hand, only the Miscellaneous Expenses group (-0.03% to 0.03%) recorded a higher price variation rate. The highlight in this expense class was the pet food group, which rose from -0.45% to 0.16%.
