BNDES seminar discusses the role of Blockchain in economic development

The seminar titled “Disruptive Technologies for Financial and Government Services: Blockchain for Development” was held on January 14. The event was developed through a partnership between the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and FGV’s International Intelligence Unit (NPII).

The event discussed the application of Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT), including Blockchain, in the public and financial sectors, focusing on how they can help boost data integrity, transparency and efficiency.

FGV’s international intelligence analyst, Leonardo Neves, participated in the panel titled “Government 2.0: Blockchain Tech and Governance”. Neves also presented the report developed by the NPII titled “Blockchain Contributions for the Climate Finance” during the ITU Work Group meeting on Distributed Ledger technology (DLT) applications.
