Seminar on indigenous peoples marks book launch on the subject in Brasilia

The Coordination of Applied Juridical Research (CPJA) of FGV’s Sao Paulo Law School (Direito SP) and the law firm Dora, Azambuja e Oliveira – Human Rights Advocacy are promoting the seminar “Povos Indígenas e Conjunturas Atuais” (“Indigenous Peoples and Current Situations”). The event, which marks the launch of the book “Fortalecimento dos Povos e das Organizações Indígenas” (“Strengthening Indigenous Peoples and Organizations”) will be held at the FGV Auditorium in Brasilia (Avenida L2 Norte – SGAN, Quadra 602 – Módulos A, B and C. Asa Norte, Brasília, DF), on April 23.
With articles prepared by indigenous leaders and researchers, the book brings together reflections on the legal environment of indigenous issues, such as freedom of association, taxation, and partnerships with the government.
The book is organized by Paulo Celso de Oliveira Pankararu and is the result of two meetings on the subject promoted by CPJA, the office Dora, Azambuja e Oliveira – Advocacy, Institute, Foundation and Companies Group (GIFE) within the scope of the project Economic Sustainability of Civil Society Organizations and had the support of the Brazilian office of the Ford Foundation and other institutions.
