Coordinator of FGVAgro appointed to IICA chair for his contributions to agribusiness development

On October 30, in San José, Costa Rica, the coordinator of the Center for Agribusiness Studies (FGVAgro) at the FGV´s Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP), Roberto Rodrigues, was appointed to the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) Chair in Agribusiness. This recognition was bestowed during the Meeting of Ministers of Agriculture of the Americas.

IICA is headquartered in San José, Costa Rica, and it works with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) throughout the Americas.

Rodrigues was granted this honor for his contributions to scientific knowledge and the solving of problems limiting sustainable development in the Americas.

“Brazil needs to take the lead in the debate on food security,” he said.
