In celebration of Career Day, FGV highlighted stories that reflect the institution's commitment to preparing professionals to translate knowledge into social impact. One of the examples is of Almir Fonseca, a 22-year-old student at FGV EMAp, who integrates technique, purpose, and innovation throughout his academic and professional journey.

At 22, Almir is working as an Analytics intern at strategic consultancy Kearney and sees Artificial Intelligence as a means to transform decisions into solutions with real impact.

“Since childhood, I have always enjoyed solving mathematical and logical problems. Over time, I realized that data hides stories that human eyes cannot capture—and that’s when I found my purpose,” he recounts.

The student highlights that technology is no longer a support area but has taken on a strategic role within companies. “We are living in a silent revolution. The data scientist translates data into decisions and algorithms into results. More than technique, empathy and responsibility are essential,” he asserts.

For Almir, FGV played a central role in his education. “The combination of Computing, Mathematics, and Statistics provided me with an analytical foundation, but it was the professors and practical projects that taught me how to generate value with knowledge,” he explains.

Almir’s story reflects FGV EMAp’s commitment to training professionals capable of integrating science, ethics, and purpose in an increasingly data-driven and innovative landscape.
