Diversity as a force for social transformation is the theme of a symposium in São Paulo
Event gathers specialists, collectives, and researchers to discuss inclusion, representation, and social justice

The School of Law of São Paulo (FGV Direito SP) is hosting the I Symposium on Diversity, a meeting that proposes a collective reflection on diversity as a structural axis of social transformation. The event will bring together the academic community, institutional partners, and the general public for three days of activities focused on debate, knowledge production, and recognizing diverse trajectories.
The symposium will provide a space for dialogue, action, and integration among different perspectives, merging research, culture, and social engagement.
On the first day, discussions will focus on the experiences and representations of LGBTQIAPN+ individuals, with the participation of people active in various sectors of society. The day will culminate in the drafting of a collective manifesto on the importance of diversity in academic and social environments.
The second day will mark the launch of the study “LGBTphobia as Racism,” developed by FGV Justiça Racial, followed by debates with specialists and political leaders regarding justice, rights, and addressing violence against LGBTQIAPN+ individuals.
Concluding the program, the third day will cover inter-sectional dialogue among race, gender, and justice, gathering representatives from academia, the private sector, and education to discuss paths for transformation and equity.
In addition to the thematic panels, the symposium will feature cultural and artistic activities, reinforcing the commitment of FGV Direito SP to promote a plural and welcoming environment, where diversity is recognized as an essential element for building a more just and inclusive society.
