FGV Digital Finance: Launch of specialized center marks advance in digital finance studies
Initiative expands academic production applied to the advancement of the tokenized economy and the development of solutions based on financial innovation

The São Paulo School of Economics of the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV EESP) announces, on November 25, at 5:30 p.m., the creation of FGV Digital Finance, a study center focused exclusively on applied research in digital finance. The launch will take place at the FGV unit located at Rua Dr. Plínio Barreto, 365, São Paulo.
FGV Digital Finance is the result of the consolidation of projects carried out under the University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI–Ripple), which over the last few years has stimulated the production of academic knowledge on blockchain, digital assets, market infrastructure, and new architectures for financial systems. The initiative reflects the understanding that academia plays an essential role in building a tokenized economy, contributing to technical debates, public policy formulation, and the development of innovative solutions.
The new center will focus on integrating research, teaching, and outreach on topics such as asset tokenization, digital payments, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), financial regulation, data security, and economic models applied to emerging technologies. By structuring a space dedicated to scientific production and coordination with the public and private sectors, FGV EESP strengthens its contribution to understanding the transformations that shape the future of finance.
