FGV promotes seminar on the challenges and future of the electric power sector in Brazil
The event, scheduled for October 31 in Rio de Janeiro, will bring together experts to discuss regulation, infrastructure, and new technological demands

FGV Conhecimento, in partnership with Light, will hold the seminar "Perspectives for the Energy Sector: Regulation, Resilience, Innovation, and Data Centers" on October 31. The meeting will feature a free program open to the public, from 9 AM to 1 PM, at FGV's Cultural Center, proposing reflections on the challenges and opportunities within the electric power distribution sector in Brazil, considering various perspectives.
In light of the technological evolution impacting the production chain, the seminar will address the need for regulatory adaptations and investments in innovation. Tax aspects, the urgency of resilient infrastructure, and perspectives related to the growing installation and operation of data centers will also be discussed.
With the presence of Alexandre Nogueira, president of Light, and Benjamin Zymler, minister of TCU, one central point of the debate will be the examination of lessons — and potential critiques — drawn from the audit being conducted by the Tribunal de Contas da União (TCU), exploring their contributions for enhancing the regulatory model. The seminar aims to contribute to creating an environment of legal stability and predictability, crucial for attracting new investments.
Bringing together specialists and representatives from public and private sectors, the meeting seeks to establish a space for continuous dialogue on sustainable development trajectories for Brazil.
