FGV researcher participates in an international program on global economic cooperation in the United States
The initiative brought together leaders from 16 countries to discuss economic prosperity and strengthening international partnerships

FGV Energia researcher and professor João Victor Marques Cardoso participated in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), a professional exchange program promoted by the United States government, held between September 6 and 27, 2025. The multiregional edition, entitled "Advancing Economic Prosperity: Global Economic Cooperation", gathered representatives of 16 nationalities with the objective of strengthening long-term relationships between the USA and international leaders from the public, private, and academic sectors.
During the program, João Victor visited five American cities — Washington, D.C.; Baltimore (MD); Cleveland (OH); St. Louis (MO), and Portland (OR) — where he took part in technical visits and rounds of inter-institutional interaction with 21 organizations. The activities involved meetings with governmental institutions, private companies, universities, financial institutions, and public-private partnerships, focusing on economic development, international trade, and sustainable financing mechanisms.
The IVLP is one of the most traditional public diplomacy initiatives of the US government and seeks to promote dialogue and cooperation among distinguished professionals worldwide.
