FGV supports the City Hall of Porto Alegre in structuring the concession of urban parks
Initiative strengthens sustainable public management with technical studies for the concession of parks in Porto Alegre

FGV Projetos is working with the City Hall of Porto Alegre on the concession plan for two urban parks in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, Parque Marinha do Brasil and Orla do Guaíba (Section 3). The initiative aims to modernize the management of these spaces, ensuring long-term operational sustainability.
The studies for this phase began in 2024 and were presented on the 17th and 18th of November of this year, in a workshop with the Municipal Secretariat of Partnerships and representatives from the city’s main secretariats.
The meeting aimed to introduce the project modeling, clarify doubts, and collect contributions from the involved areas. The suggestions received were analyzed and will be incorporated whenever feasible. The next steps will ensure public participation through consultations and public hearings, scheduled for the first half of 2026, before the project is submitted to the Court of Auditors.
Charles Schramm, executive manager of FGV leading the project, recognizes the importance of initiatives like this for urban centers. “Public space is a fundamental asset, and the population deserves it to be treated responsibly and with a long-term vision. FGV’s work is guided by technical rigor, efficiency, and commitment to the public interest—pillars built over decades of experience.”
