Global discussions address the role of law and citizenship in confronting the climate crisis
Belém, Rio de Janeiro, and New York simultaneously host an international event on legal and civic solutions for the climate emergency

On November 12 and 13, Rio de Janeiro will be one of the venues for the international event “A Mandate for All: the Legal and Civic Imperative to Confront the Climate Emergency,” being held simultaneously in Belém and New York. The initiative is organized by FGV Direito Rio in partnership with the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and the World Commission on Environment Law.
The meeting will bring together global leaders, jurists, scientists, representatives of indigenous peoples, youth activists, and public managers to discuss legal and civic challenges in light of the climate crisis. There will be two days of debates, panels, and international connections, addressing topics such as the role of cities, businesses, courts, and traditional communities in building a sustainable future.
The event aims to strengthen global cooperation and inspire legal and social actions to face the climate emergency with courage, innovation, and justice.
