Between October 21 and 24, the Graduation program at FGV Direito SP conducted the immersion week “Green Assets: Models, Trends and Experiences,” led by Professor Fernando Marcato with the support of monitors Manuel Ferreira and Gustavo Arienzo. The course combined conceptual and practical foundation on the subject, gathering specialists and promoting technical visits that connected students to the real application of environmental policies and sustainability projects.

The objective was to provide an integrated view of the economic mechanisms of environmental valuation, addressing topics such as carbon credits, forest concessions, and biodiversity conservation models.

The program featured lectures from representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), who presented concepts related to climate change and market opportunities, and from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), which discussed financing mechanisms for reforestation projects.

The immersion also included technical visits to Ibirapuera Park, led by Samuel Lloyd, commercial director of Urbia Parques, who presented the contractual model of the concession, and to Systemica, a pioneering company in restoration concessions and the commercialization of carbon credits, where students were welcomed by Thiago Ricci and his team.

Other highlights included contributions from Marco Lentini, a forest conservation specialist, and Rafael Fortunatto, Attorney General of ANTT, who shared experiences from the Investment Partnerships Program (PPI). The last visit was to the Environmental Company of the State of São Paulo (CETESB), where Carina Dolabella, coordinator of the Climate Change and International Relations Advisory, presented the regulatory instruments and measures to confront climate change adopted by the agency.

At the closing, students presented practical works based on real cases – part of the group analyzed the concession contract of Ibirapuera Park, while the other group structured a forest concession project, considering economic-financial balance and allocation of contractual risks.

This initiative is part of the Immersion Weeks of FGV Direito SP, which offer intensive and applied academic experiences on emerging themes in contemporary Law.
