Series “Amazonian Dialogues” discusses bioeconomy chains in the Amazon biome
Online event explores sustainable economic models for the Amazon region

The School of Economics of São Paulo at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV EESP) is hosting another webinar in the “Amazonian Dialogues” series, this time focusing on bioeconomy chains in the Amazon biome.
The three guests, Michelle Aracaty, president of CORECON – AM/RR; Augusto Rocha; and Spartaco Astolfi Filho, are professors at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) and will discuss the complex economic systems of bioeconomy chains in the Amazon biome, which involve the extraction, production, processing, commercialization, and consumption of goods and services originating from the forest and its associated ecosystems. These chains hold significant socio-environmental importance as they connect the use of natural resources with the livelihoods of local populations—river dwellers, indigenous peoples, quilombolas, and family farmers—and have the potential to contribute to both regional development and forest conservation.
The moderation of this virtual debate will be led by Márcio Holland, a professor at FGV EESP, coordinator of the lato sensu Graduate Program (FGV EESP Masters), and a columnist for Broadcast/Agência Estado.
The event will take place on July 28, at 7 PM, and those interested in participating should register at this link.
