Portuguese minister discusses Brazil-Portugal relations

FGV’s Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (EAESP) will welcome professor Augusto Santos Silva, Minister of Foreign Affairs (MNE) of Portugal, on March 30, at 3:30 PM. The guest will address the theme ‘Brazil and Portugal: a private relationship in a globalized world’.
The lecture will address all facets of Portugal-Brazil relations (political, economic, cultural, social), which are very different from most bilateral relations, for historical and cultural reasons. The guest will be welcomed by the president of Fundação Getulio Vargas, Professor Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, and the lecture will be mediated by the president of the Institute of International Relations and Foreign Commerce (IRICE) and former Brazilian ambassador in Washington, Rubens Barbosa, as well as Professor Guilherme Casarões (EAESP).
The minister will address some of the main current topics, such as agreements between the European Union (EU) and Mercosur, and the implications of Brexit to this relationship. Santos Silva will also talk about how Brazil and Portugal can jointly overcome the uncertainties of today’s international scenario.
The lecture is open to the public and will be held at the EAESP Noble Hall. Those interested in attending the event must register via this website.
