President of Brazil’s Central Bank discusses monetary policy at FGV opening lecture

Professor Ilan Goldfajn, president of the Central Bank of Brazil, hosted the opening lecture of the economy undergraduate course of FGV’s Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (EPGE) on March 24. The guest lecturer addressed issues such as Monetary Policy under a global perspective, and particularly in Brazil, the trajectory of economic policy, and the anchoring of expectations and effectiveness of monetary policy.
The lecture was moderated by the dean of EPGE, professor Rubens Penha Cysne, and also featured the Undergraduate Course’s Coordinators, professors Luis Henrique Braido and Andre Villela. The event was attended by EPGE students, as well as students and professors from other courses of FGV and other educational institutions, as well as High School students.
At the end of his lecture, Ilan Goldfajn opened a Q&A session on economic policies and related topics.
