FGV joins international debate in Miami

The purpose of the “2017 Transatlantic Dialogue” event was to promote cooperation among European and U.S. scholars within the field of Public Administration.

Professor Bianor Cavalcanti, director of FGV’s International Affairs Division (DINT), participated in the “2017 Transatlantic Dialogue” (TAD) held from April 5 - 8 in Florida (USA). Organized by the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA), American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), and Florida International University (FIU), the purpose of the event was to promote cooperation among European and U.S. scholars within the field of Public Administration. This edition’s theme was ‘Sustaining a Democratic Public Sector in an Era of Multiple Challenges and Constraints’.

Professor Bianor, who is also president of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA), presented the paper “Corporatism, fiscal imbalances and development: reflections on Brazilian crisis”, under the discussion panel titled ‘Perspectives from the Other Side of the Atlantic’.

The 2018 TAD will be held in Bucharest, Romania, from June 6 - 8, 2018, under the theme ‘Study of Public Administration – transatlantic perspectives’.
