FGV leads Brazilian Ministry of Education ranking

The courses offered by Fundação Getulio Vargas reached first place in Brazil by the 2015 General Course Index, published by the Ministry of Education. The results were announced on June 6.

EPGE Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (EPGE) ranked first place nationwide, while Sao Paulo School of Economics (EESP) came in second place overall. FGV’s School of Social Sciences (CPDOC) also made it into the top 10, ranking seventh. The Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE) and the Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (EAESP) also obtained the highest score (5) in the index.

The courses offered by the Rio de Janeiro Law School (Direito Rio) and Sao Paulo Law School (Direito SP) were recognized for their excellence, reaching a score of 4. In order to make this list, institutions must earn a score of 4 or 5 in the index, on a scale of 1 to 5.

The index is published annually by the Anísio Teixeira Institute of Educational Studies and Research (Inep), based on each institution’s average scores for undergraduate and graduate courses.

The latest index was based on data from 2015 to rank public and private institutions (universities, colleges, academic centers and federal institutions) for courses in physical sciences, life sciences and the humanities.
