Rodrigo dos Santos Targino, professor at FGV’s School of Applied Mathematics (EMAp), will participate in the Fourth Financial Mathematics Team Challenge – a Quantitative Finance competition where teams attempt to solve actual financial problems using mathematical techniques. The event will be held on July 18-21 at the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa.

Rodrigo will mentor one of the teams. Featuring one professor and PhD/Master’s students, each team is assigned to a different project, proposed by the mentor, in partnership with the financial industry.

There will be a total of five teams made up of students from UCT, University College London (UK), Freiburg University (Germany), and University of Technology Sydney (Australia).
