FGV Energy researcher Vinícius Neves Motta participated in the 21^st Conference of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies, held in Canada on July 17-21. During the event, he presented the work ‘Model for power grid optimal planning including renewable energies.’

The research addresses the Brazilian power system’s expansion planning model, encompassing the planning, operation, and expansion of the power system, forecasting future electric arrays and rates.

The international conference brought together researchers of issues such as power market and planning, bioinformatics, and linear optimization, among other topics. The event is organized every three years by the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS).
