FGV holds the annual event of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program

The Center for Sustainability Studies (GVces) of FGV’s São Paulo School of Business Administration (EAESP) will hold the 2017 Annual Event of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program on Thursday, August 10. The goal of the meeting is to foster a corporate culture of preparing and publishing greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, providing participants with access to instruments and international quality standards.
The GHG Protocol is a tool used to understand, quantify, and manage GHG emissions. Originally developed in the United States by the World Resources Institute (WRI) and is currently the most popular GHG inventory method among corporations and governments worldwide.
The event will see the release of the inventories of GHG emissions for 2016 of more than 100 member organizations, representing 44 industries, such as the manufacturing industry, financial activities, insurance, energy and construction, education, public administration, national security, and agribusiness.
The event is open to the public and takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at FGV’s 9 de Julho Auditorium (Rua Itapeva, 432, ground floor - Bela Vista), in São Paulo. Click here (In portuguese) to register.
About the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program
The Brazilian GHG Protocol Program organizes work groups, along with the participating companies, to improve the method and development of new tools for accounting for GHG emissions according to the Brazilian reality. A highlight of the program’s initiatives, considered a pioneer in the world, was the creation of the Public Emissions Register (In portuguese) and the public area for consultation of the inventories of the companies and statistics by industry.
