On 3 August, FGV welcomed the U.S. Ambassador in Brazil, Peter Michael McKinley, the Consul General in Rio de Janeiro, James B. Story, the Consul for Economic Affairs, Etienne LeBailly, the Control Officer of the visit, Annie Bohlen, and the Political and Economic Affairs advisor, Solange Bezerra.

At the invitation of FGV Energy, the delegation was welcomed by the president of FGV, Professor Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, the vice president, Sergio Franklin Quintella, Dean Rubens Penha Cysne (Brazilian School of Economics and Finance), and Director Bianor Cavalcanti (International Affairs Division).

The meeting aimed to strengthen relations between the U.S. Embassy and Fundação Getulio Vargas. The U.S. government’s representatives visited FGV’s Cultural Center, learning more about the facilities, and soon after had lunch in Great Hall of the Presidency.
