FGV takes lead in Brazilian Bar Exam

FGV’s Rio de Janeiro Law School (Direito Rio) ranked as the private institution with the highest approval rate in the 22nd Consolidated Bar Exam in Brazil. According to the list published by the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB), the School also reached first place overall for all courses in Rio de Janeiro, among institutions featuring at least 10 Exam candidates.
From a total of 34 Direito Rio students who took the exam, 28 were approved, which represents an approval rate of over 82%. More than 136,000 Law students from 1,431 courses across Brazil took the 22nd Bar Exam, but only 23.66% actually passed.
According to Professor Thiago Bottino, undergraduate coordinator at Direito Rio, this is the result of the high level of commitment among Direito Rio’s faculty and students and, along with other external indexes, consolidates the excellence of the course.
“This result gives our community a lot of pride, but also a great sense of responsibility towards students who have yet to take the Bar exam. This achievement reinforces our commitment, collaborative spirit, and excellence in education,” said Thiago Bottino.
FGV’s Sao Paulo Law School (Direito SP) also stood out at the 22nd Bar Exam, ranking among the top private institution in the state of Sao Paulo. A total of 41 of the School’s 57 candidates passed the exam, representing an approval rate of over 73%.
