Professor is awarded for renowned work in agriculture and food area

The Coordinator of the Agribusiness Center (FGVagro) of FGV’s Sao Paulo School of Economics (EESP), Roberto Rodrigues, has received the award for 2017 Professor Emeritus – Warrior of Education Trophy – Ruy Mesquita. The honor, granted by the Centro de Integração Empresa-Escola (CIEE) and by newspaper O Estado de S.Paulo, has been acknowledging relevant names in education in Brazil since 1997.
Special Ambassador of the United Nations for agriculture and food for cooperatives and former Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply (2003 to 2006), Roberto Rodrigues is one of the most active leaders in the formulation and implementation of sectorial policies that have transformed agribusiness in a modern and relevant activity in the Brazilian GDP.
Created to celebrate Teacher’s Day, the award is given annually to education professionals who have made relevant contributions to Brazilian education and the country, through the creation and sharing of knowledge. Rodrigues is the 21st person to be honored. The award was presented to the professor on October 17, in a ceremony held in the CIEE Theater.
