Brazilian Planning Minister participates in debate on role and size of the Brazilian State

FGV’s EPGE Brazilian School of Economics and Finance and Rio de Janeiro Law School (Direito Rio) will host the seminar “Role and Size of the Brazilian State” on November 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event will be attended by the Brazilian Minister of Planning, Budget and Management, Dyogo Oliveira, and other authorities and experts to discuss improvements for the Brazilian State and the possible need for reforms, as well as the role of the public and private sectors in the development process. The meeting will also mark the launch of the book “As crises da minha vida [The crises of my life]”, written by former Minister of Finance and FGV board member, Ernane Galvêas.
The opening of the event will include the presence of FGV’s Vice President Sergio Franklin Quintella and directors Rubens Penha Cysne (EPGE) and Sérgio Guerra (Direito Rio). Minister Dyogo Oliveira will then give his speech, which will present possible ways to improve the Brazilian State. The seminar will also open the floor for discussions on the role of the public and private sectors in development, new roads for public management and the Federal Government’s reform agenda.
In addition to the discussion panels, the seminar will mark the launch of the book “As crises da minha vida [The crises of my life]”, an autobiography written by former Minister of Finance, Ernane Galvêas.
